Abstract
U radu je opisana problematika utjecaja šumske vegetacije na vodne odnose u različitim tipovima ekosustava, uravnoteženje vodnih odnosa, sprječavanje bujica i mjere zaštite. Također, u radu će biti opisani razlozi zašto šume ne predstavljaju samo zelene ukrase jednog grada ili sirovine za drvnu industriju, nego su vrlo bitan regulator klime i nenadoknadiv regulator režima voda. S obzirom da su potrebe za vodom svaki dan sve veće, šume mogu dati poseban doprinos i odigrati važnu ulogu u budućnosti.
