Abstract

Tvrdi krpelji (porodica: ixodidae) su hematofagni ektoparazitni člankonošci te pripadaju među najvažnije prijenosnike zoonoza poput krpeljnog meningoencefalitisa, lajmske borelioze, tularemije i drugih koje pogađaju ljude i životinje. Zbog rizika od prijenosa različitih bolesti, uspostava monitoringa tvrdih krpelja u urbanim sredinama imala bi pozitivan preventivni učinak u pogledu prijenosa bolesti. Uzorkovanje tvrdih krpelja na području Zagreba je provedeno u razdoblju od listopada 2020. do lipnja 2021. godine. Krpelji su uzorkovani metodom krpeljne zatege na pet različitih lokaliteta, na transektima duljine 200 metara. Prikupljeno je ukupno 67 jedinki tvrdih krpelja sljedećih vrsta: Ixodes ricinus zastupljen sa 65 jedinki, Ixodes frontalis i Dermacentor reticulatus koji broje svaki po jednu jedinku. Među uzorkovanim krpeljima evidentirano je najviše jedinki u stadiju nimfe (66 %), zatim jedinke u adultnom stadiju mužjaka (16 %) i ženki (10 % ) te ličinke (8 %). Utvrđena je sezonska aktivnost tvrdih krpelja sa vrhuncem u svibnju, a najveći broj krpelja je uzorkovan na lokalitetu koji je prema svojim karakteristikama najbliži tipičnom šumskom ekosustavu u kojem prevladaju optimalni stanišni uvjeti za rast i razvoj krpelja

Abstract (english)

Hard ticks (family: ixodidae) are hematophagous ectoparasitic arthropods and are among the most important vectors of zoonoses such as tick-borne meningoencephalitis, Lyme borreliosis, tularemia and others that affect humans and animals. Due to the risk of transmitting various diseases, the standardised and systematic monitoring of hard ticks in urban areas would have a positive preventive effect . Sampling of hard ticks in the Zagreb area was carried out in the period from October 2020 to June 2021. Ticks were sampled by the flag dragging method at five different sites, on transects 200 meters in lenght. A total of 67 individuals of hard ticks of the following species were collected: Ixodes ricinus represented by 65 individuals, Ixodes frontalis and Dermacentor reticulatus, each numbering one individual. Among the sampled ticks, most individuals were recorded in the nymphal stage (66%), followed by individuals in the adult stage of males (16%) and females (10%) and larvae (8%). The seasonal activity of hard ticks was determined with a peak in May and the largest number of ticks was sampled in the locality which, according to its characteristics, is closest to a typical forest ecosystem in which optimal habitat conditions for tick growth and development are present.
