Abstract

U srpnju 2019. primijećeno je značajno sušenje običnog lovora (Laurus nobilis L.) u Opatiji. Simptomi počinju kao sušenje vršnih izbojakaštonaposlijetku dovodido sušenja i odumiranja cijelih biljaka. Cilj rada bio je utvrditi uzrok odumiranja običnog lovora na području grada. Analizirani izbojci sakupljeni su sa dvije lokacije (park Angiolina i park Margarita). Izbojci su analizirani klasičnim metodama izolacije gljiva na hranjive podloge, nakon čega su dobiveni miceliji identificirani molekularnim metodama. Analizom su utvrđena 32 taksona gljiva iz ukupno 31 uzorka. Od toga ih je 17 zabilježeno kao patogen, četiri su saprofita i tri endofita. Među izoliranim taskonima. zabilježene su i tri patogene Colletotrichum vrste kao mogući uzročnici nekroze i odumiranja, te je proveden test patogenosti kojim su inokulirane zdrave trogodišnje sadnice lovora. Preliminarnim rezultatima testa patogenosti utvrđeno je da C. nymphae, C. karsti i C. fioriniae mogu prouzrokovati nekrozu kore, stoga bi one mogle biti potencijalan uzrok odumiranja stabala na području Opatije

Abstract (english)

In July 2019, significant drying of laurel (Laurus nobilis L.) was noticed in Opatija. The symptoms begin as the drying of the top shoots, which eventually leads to the drying and death of the entire plant. The aim of this study was to determine the cause of the death of laurel in the area of the city. The analyzed shoots were collected from two locations (Angiolina Park and Margarita Park). Shoots were analyzed by classical fungal isolation methods onto the nutrient media, after which the obtained mycelia were identified by the molecular methods. The analysis revealed 32 taxa of fungi from a total of 31 samples. Of these, 17 are recorded as pathogens, four are saprophytes and three are endophytes. Among the isolated fungi, three pathogenic Colletotrichum species as possible causes of necrosis and dieback wereobtained and pathogenicity test was performed in healthy three-year-old laurel seedlings. The preliminary results of the pathogenicity test determined that C. nymphae, C. karsti and C. fioriniae can cause necrosis of the bark, therefore they could be a potential cause of the death of trees in the area of Opatija.
