Abstract

Gospodarenje otpadom je jedna od čestih tema zadnjih godina, pogotovo od kad je Hrvatska postala dio Europske unije koja obvezuje sve države članice da poštuju propise, zakone i ciljeve koje oni donesu. Tako je i sa sustavom gospodarenja otpadom koji je važna tema i problem koji Hrvatska mora rješavati. Gradovi Osijek i Velika Gorica su na vrlo dobrom putu, Osijek je prešao postotak od 50% za odvojeno sakupljanje otpada, a Velika Gorica je vrlo blizu, čak je 48% odvojeno sakupljenog otpada. Grad Rijeka i Zagreb imaju još dosta posla kako bi dostigli ova 2 grada, kod Rijeke se sakuplja odvojeno oko 14% otpada, a kod Zagreba je to 31, 4 %. Svaki grad u Republici Hrvatskoj mora imati Plan gospodarenja otpadom za određeno razdoblje i ispunjavati ciljeve koje su određene na razini EU i na razini RH. Ne ispunjavajući potrebne mjere, EU ima propisane kazne koje će RH morati plaćati ako ne ispuni očekivano. Od sustava gospodarenja otpadom se očekuje da je ekonomičan, ekološki, jednostavan i lako pristupačan svima te, najvažnija komponentna je održivost.

Abstract (english)

Waste management has been one of the frequent topics of recent years, especially since Croatia became part of the European Union, which obliges all member states to respect the regulations, laws and goals that they adopt. The same situation is with the waste management system, which is an important topic and problem that Croatia must solve. The cities of Osijek and Velika Gorica are on a very good path, Osijek has exceeded the percentage of 50 % for separate waste collection, and Velika Gorica is very close, even 48 % of waste is collected separately. The city of Rijeka and Zagreb still have a lot of work to do in order to reach these 2 cities, Rijeka collects about 14% of waste separately, and Zagreb 31, 4 %. Every city in the Republic of Croatia must have a Waste Management Plan for a certain period and meet the goals set at the EU level and at the level of the Republic of Croatia. By not fulfilling the necessary measures, the EU has prescribed fines that the Republic of Croatia will have to pay if it does not fulfill the expectations. The waste management system is expected to be economical, ecological, simple and easily accessible to everyone, and the most important component is sustainability.
