Abstract

Dva glavna klinička sindroma povezana hantavirusnom infekcijom su Hemoragijska vrućica s bubrežnim sindromom (HVBS) i Hantavirusni plućni sindrom (HPS) koji se primarno prenosi putem izlučevina sitnih glodavaca (urin, izmet ili slina). Čovjek udišući zaražen aerosol u biotopu glodavcaili ruralnom području može u početkurazviti simptome nalik gripi. Daljnjim razvojem bolesti može doći do zatajenja bubrega, pa čak i smrti. Abstract (english)

Thetwomainclinicalsyndromesassociatedwith hantavirus infection are Haemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) and Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), which is primarily transmitted through the secretions of small rodents (urine, feces or saliva). A person inhaling an infected aerosol in a rodent habitat or rural area may initially develop flu-like symptoms. Further development of the disease can lead to kidney failure and even death. The most common carriers of Hemorrhagic Fever... More with Renal Syndrome in Europe are Myodes glareolus, Apodemus flavicollis, Apodemus sylvaticus and Apodemus agrarius, while in American countries, Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome is transmitted by Peromyscus maniculatus. There is no licensed vaccine in Europe, so it is extremely important to follow the instructions and epidemiological measures issued by public health institutions. Less
