Abstract
U radu su opisani svi sinekološki uvjeti pridolaska bukovih zajednica na području Istre. Opisane su sve zajednice bukve koje pridolaze na navedenom području. Šume bukve Učke i Ćićarije te šume bukve središnje Istre obrađene su kao dvije zasebne cjeline zbog različitih uvjeta u kojima uspijevaju. Istru zbog specifičnog položaja na granici dvaju biljnogeografskih područja tvori mozaik raznih šumskih zajednica velike raznolikosti te je zbog toga izuzetno zanimljiva za proučavanje šumskih zajednica i sinekoloških uvjeta pridolaska istih. U svoj toj raznolikosti šuma Istre posebno se ističu bukove šume.
