Abstract
Park prirode Medvednica zaštićeno je područje s više bitnih prirodnih fenomena zaštite. U odnosu grada Zagreba i prirodnog područja koje ga okružuje javlja se problem širenja urbanog područja u zaštićena prirodna područja. Neupitne su dugoročne koristi i vrijednosti za grad Zagreb koje proizlaze posebno iz zakonom zaštićenih područja (park prirode Medvednica, posebni rezervati šumske vegetacije na Medvednici, park šuma, primjer Dotrščina, mnogi spomenici parkovne arhitekture, primjer Maksimira...
