Abstract
U ovom radu opisana je problematika naglog samnjenja broja pčele medarice u Hrvatskoj i svijetu i razlozi ugroženosti. Opisani su biotski (invazivne vrste) i abiotski (pesticidi) čimbenici koji su u direktnoj korelaciji sa naglim padom broja populacije pčela te se apelira na povećanje interesa u svrhu zaštite pčela kako na razini naše države tako i na globalnoj razini jer u protivnom moglo bi doći do velikog narušavanja biološke raznolikosti kompletne svjetske flore i faune.
