Abstract

Melioracije predstavljaju skup bioloških i tehničkih radova s ciljem očuvanja, obnove vegetacije, poboljšanja i zaštite proizvodnosti tla. Počeci melioracijskih radova na sredozemnom prostoru krša sežu unatrag 150 godina, a s obzirom da je pošumljivanje krša jedan od najznačajnijih projekata hrvatskog šumarstva ulažu se velika sredstva. Glavni cilj melioracijskih radova je da na ogoljelim i opožarenim krškim terenima spriječe daljnje štetne utjecaje bujičnih tokova i erozije, te uspostava biljnog pokrova. Svi ti radovi se postižu biološkim i tehničkim melioracijskim mjerama. Temelj uspješne melioracije počiva u dobrom poznavanju ekoloških faktora te svih ekoloških zahtjeva grmlja i drveća sa kojima radimo. Samo na dobrom poznavanju prirodnih uvjeta možemo izgraditi valjanu tehniku za provođenje melioracijskih radova.

Abstract (english)

Ameliorations are a set of biological and technical works whose purpose is to preserve and renew flora and improve and protect soil productivity. The early beginnings of amelioration works date back to 150 years ago around the Mediterranean karst, while today the Croatian Forestry Society is investing a great sum into the reforestation of the karst, and thus making it one of their greatest projects. The main goal of amelioration works is to prevent the damage of torrents and erosion on the barren and fire-damaged karsts, and to prepare the land for plantation. All of the works can be achieved through biological and technical amelioratory measures. The basis of a successful amelioration lies in a great knowledge of the ecological factors and all ecological demands on trees and bushes that we are working on. A good technique in amelioratory works can be followed through only by having a
great knowledge in natural conditions.
